Foil Labels — Real Metallic, Brilliantly Printed.

Custom hot foil, cold foil and simulated foil labels for wine, spirits, cosmetics and premium packaged goods. Choose your foil technique — hot stamping, in-line flexo cold foil or metallised substrate — and we’ll match the right method to your run length and finish requirements.

Luxury label finishes that make your products impossible to ignore

At Onpack, we specialise in creating luxury label finishes that give your packaging a premium edge. From metallic foils in gold, copper, and silver to high-build varnishes, spot UV gloss, and satin or matte coatings, our embellishments are designed to add depth, texture, and sophistication. Paired with premium textured papers and custom die-cut shapes, these enhancements transform ordinary labels into standout designs that reflect quality and craftsmanship, ensuring your brand leaves a lasting impression.

High-impact finishes designed to elevate your product’s shelf appeal

For brands seeking a luxury finish with added value, we also offer simulated metallic effects in gold, silver, and bronze—replicating the look of premium hot foil stamping at a fraction of the cost. Combined with spot UV gloss, high-build varnishes, laminates, and specialty textures, these finishes create labels with depth, contrast, and a truly high-end appearance. Whether you’re in wine, spirits, craft beer, gourmet foods, or health and beauty, our embellishment options ensure your packaging not only reflects your brand identity but also commands attention in today’s competitive market.

Where Foil Makes the Difference

Foil labels are widely used across wine and spirits, premium cosmetics and personal care, confectionery and gifting, health and wellness, and craft beverage. Their ability to communicate luxury and craftsmanship makes them the default choice for limited editions, special releases and collaborations — where first impressions carry extra weight. Spirits brands rely on gold and copper hot foil to signal heritage and authenticity, while beauty and skincare labels use silver and rose gold cold foil for contemporary premium appeal. For products where shelf presence directly influences purchase decisions, foil labels consistently outperform standard print, and the combination of foil with embossing or soft-touch lamination adds a tactile quality that reinforces premium positioning at point of sale.

How Onpack prints foil labels

Simulated foil effects and shorter runs are produced on Onpack's HP Indigo and L350 digital presses, printing onto metallised substrates to achieve full-coverage metallic effects without foil tooling cost or extended lead times. Opaque white ink is applied where required to ensure full colour vibrancy over the metallic base.

Cold foil for higher-volume orders runs in-line on our UV flexo press — UV-cured adhesive is applied and foil laminated within the same press pass, keeping unit costs competitive at scale. Hot foil stamping and embossing are produced on our digital ABG embellishment line, where heated dies apply metallic foil under precision pressure for the sharpest edges and deepest embossed relief available in label production.

Every foil job runs through Onpack's ISO9001 certified processes, with 100% vision camera quality control — so foil registration, colour and finish stay consistent from the first label to the last.

A press proof or physical sample is available before your full run, so you can assess foil sheen, emboss depth and colour accuracy in person before committing to volume.

Frequently asked questions

Hot foil uses a heated die to transfer metallic foil under pressure, producing the sharpest edges and highest-gloss metallic finish — applied on our digital ABG embellishment line for short to medium runs. Cold foil uses UV-cured adhesive applied in-line on the flexo press, making it cost-effective for high-volume runs with large foil coverage areas.
Yes. Foil combined with embossing or debossing is a hallmark premium finish for wine, spirits and cosmetic packaging. Embossing is produced on our digital ABG embellishment line, registered precisely to foil areas for a sculpted, three-dimensional metallic effect.
Onpack offers yellow gold, rose gold, antique gold, bright silver, satin silver, copper, bronze, holographic rainbow, custom-pattern holographic and a range of coloured and pearlescent foils. Foil colour can be matched against Pantone Metallics or a supplied physical reference sample.

A high-resolution PDF with foil areas separated onto a dedicated spot colour layer is the preferred format. If you are unsure how to set up foil artwork, Onpack’s prepress team will guide you through the process before production.
