Flexographic (flexo) printing is a high-speed printing process that transfers ink to a substrate using flexible photopolymer plates and precision anilox rollers. Each colour has its own plate. It’s the dominant technology for high-volume label production worldwide because it combines speed, consistency, low per-unit cost and a very wide substrate range.
Flexographic label printing becomes economical from around 10,000 labels per design — we run jobs into the hundreds of thousands and millions. For shorter runs, our digital label printing service is the better fit.
Standard turnaround is 1–3 weeks from approved artwork, covering plate manufacture, press time and finishing. Repeat orders are faster — plates are retained and reused.

Yes.Flexo prints true spot Pantone colours — often more accurate than digital simulation. For brand-critical colour work, it’s one of the strongest reasons to choose flexographic label printing at volume.
In a single in-line pass we can print, apply cold foil, varnish (gloss, matte, satin or spot), laminate, and die-cut — reducing turnaround and ensuring tight registration between layers. Embossing and hot foil are available offline.
UV inks cure instantly under UV light at high speed, with no solvent VOCs and no drying ovens. They deliver superior abrasion, water and chemical resistance compared with conventional inks — critical for beverage, chilled food, personal care and industrial labels.
For runs under 10,000 labels, digital label printing is usually cheaper — no plate setup. Between 10,000 to 50,000 labels the two formats are comparable. Above 50,000, flexographic label printing is consistently more economical. For ongoing repeat work, flexo has a clear cost advantage: plates amortise across multiple runs.

True variable data (every label unique) is a digital strength, not flexo. However we can integrate sequential numbering, batch codes and overprintable stocks into a flexo run — and we can combine flexo with digital overprint for hybrid jobs.
Yes. UV inks are solvent-free with no VOC emissions. Our presses are efficient at scale, and we offer FSC-certified and recycled substrate options. Our local Melbourne manufacturing also reduces freight emissions compared with imported labels.
